Welcome to Merin’s Cave
The home of premium d’rinking and d’ining in the heart of Chalfont St Giles.
Located opposite the village green and with a garden that nestles between the River Misbourne and the Parish church, you will be hard-pushed to find a better location to relax, unwind with friends or colleagues during the week, or a weekend treat with those close to you.
With an all-fresh-food restaurant and a uniquely-designed bar (serving hand-crafted beers and Mission wines from New Zealand), we are always here for you.
Our Head Chef and his team can’t wait for you to try their classic British dishes with a modern twist which use only the freshest ingredients and produce.
With grazing boards and home-made bar snacks available for that inevitable “must have some nibbles with my drink” moment, we are here for your food fancy whatever the time of day.
Food is served Mon – Sat 12:00 – 21:30 and Sun 12:00 – 21:00 So – get yourselves booked in now!
We like to think of ourselves as a well-travelled bunch here at Merlin’s Cave, and as such, have brought a touch of New Zealand as well as good old Blighty to Chalfont St Giles.
Celebrating all-things English, we are immensely proud to serve cask beers, lagers and stouts from the Charles Wells brewery in Bedford. Travelling a couple of hours east, we also have Aspall cyder from Suffolk. If long drinks are more your thing, we also have organic Luscombe soft drinks – crafted on a farm in deepest Devon and Fever-tree tonics (only the very best for your G&T!).
Moving slightly away from Chalfont (just 11,000 miles!) to New Zealand, Merlin’s Cave serves wines from Mission Estate – the oldest winery in New Zealand. Add Old Mout cider and Monteiths beer and we may have a kiwi invasion on our hands! And lastly, but definitely not least, we wouldn’t be doing our job properly if we didn’t have what is rapidly becoming the nation’s favourite drink would we? And we serve one of the best – hand-crafted, wood-roasted artisan coffee from Ue.
